The Problem Domain

The problem begins with rebellion—both human and spiritual—which introduces sin, corruption, exile, and death into creation. These realities are not isolated but interconnected, distorting life, disrupting relationship with God, and opposing His purpose to dwell with His people.

Sin reflects humanity’s misalignment with God, while corruption describes the spread of disorder throughout creation. Exile expresses the loss of relational closeness with God, and death represents both the loss of life and the ongoing condition of decay that shapes the world. Together, these realities form a condition that humanity cannot resolve on its own.

The problem, therefore, is not only individual wrongdoing but a world shaped by forces that resist God’s purposes. This creates the need for God to act within creation to restore what has been disrupted and to bring His purpose to completion.
