Holiness

Holiness describes the life that flows from belonging to God and living under the reign of Jesus the Messiah.

Because God is holy, those who belong to Him are called to live in ways that reflect His character and purposes within the world. Holiness therefore represents a life aligned with His will and shaped by His presence.

Through the work of Jesus and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, believers are called out of patterns of sin and corruption into a way of life that reflects the reign of Christ.

Holiness is not instantaneous perfection but an ongoing practice of resisting sin, pursuing what is good, and growing in maturity. It is the lived expression of life under His reign in the present age, reflecting the life that flows from belonging to Him.

Purpose Connection

Holiness reflects the life that corresponds to God’s presence among His people. As believers live in alignment with His character, they embody the reality of His dwelling within the world.

Why This Matters

Understanding holiness shapes how we live in response to God’s presence and the life we now live in Him.

Holiness is not merely a set of rules or external behaviors, but the life that corresponds to who God is. As His presence dwells within His people, their lives are called to reflect His character—what is good, pure, and aligned with His purposes.

This reshapes how we understand life with God.

Holiness is not optional or separate from relationship, but the natural expression of it.

To live with God is to be shaped into alignment with Him.

This also clarifies how holiness takes place.

It is not produced by effort alone, but flows from living in relationship with Christ and through the work of the Spirit within us.

As we are transformed, our lives begin to reflect the reality of God’s presence.

This shapes how we live.

We do not pursue holiness as a way to earn relationship with God, but as the expression of the relationship we have been brought into.

We actively align our lives with what is good, turning away from what distorts and destroys.

Understanding holiness therefore leads to alignment—living in a way that reflects God’s character as His presence shapes every aspect of life.
