Living His Mission
Living His mission describes the outward expression of life under the reign of Jesus as His people actively carry forward His work in the world.
Because Jesus reigns as Lord, His authority extends beyond His people to the whole of creation. Those who belong to Him are not only called to live under His reign, but to take part in what He is doing—bearing witness to His rule and inviting others into the life of His kingdom.
This calling is expressed through both word and life. It includes proclaiming the message of Jesus and embodying His character in the way life is lived. Through this, His people serve as visible expressions of His reign within a world that does not yet fully recognize His authority.
Living His mission is not reserved for a select group, but is the shared calling of all who belong to Him. It unfolds in different contexts and roles, yet remains unified in purpose—making known the reality of His reign and the life He brings.
Within the present age, this mission takes place in tension. The world remains marked by resistance, misunderstanding, and opposition. Living in this calling therefore involves perseverance, humility, and faithfulness, as His people continue to bear witness even when the response is uncertain.
This work is sustained through the Spirit, who empowers and guides His people in their witness. As a result, it is not carried out by human effort alone, but through reliance on God’s ongoing work.
Living His mission is therefore a defining expression of life under His reign—living not only in allegiance to Him, but as those actively engaged in what He is doing in the world.

Living His mission shapes how we understand our role in the world.
If Jesus truly reigns, then His purposes extend beyond personal life to the whole of creation. This means that life under His reign is not only inward or communal, but outward—engaged in what He is doing in the world.
This challenges the tendency to treat faith as private or self-contained. Instead, it calls for a life that is visibly shaped by Christ and actively involved in making Him known.
It also brings clarity to how we engage others. We are not called to control outcomes or force responses, but to bear faithful witness—speaking truth, living with integrity, and inviting others into the life of His kingdom.
At the same time, this calling involves tension. Not all will respond, and opposition may arise. Yet faithfulness is not measured by outcomes, but by continued faithfulness in what Christ is doing.
Ultimately, living His mission reminds us that life under His reign is not passive. It is active, outward, and purposeful—joining in the work of the risen Messiah as the story moves toward its fulfillment.
