The Faithfulness of God
The faithfulness of God describes His unwavering commitment to His character, His promises, and His purposes throughout the story.
God is consistently revealed as one who remains true to Himself and to what He has declared. His actions are not inconsistent or uncertain, but reflect a steady and reliable commitment to His creation and His purposes within it.
Throughout the story, God’s faithfulness is especially seen in His covenant relationships. Even when human beings fail to remain faithful, God continues to uphold His promises and work toward the fulfillment of His purposes.
This does not mean that God ignores sin or overlooks rebellion. Rather, His faithfulness includes both His commitment to what is good and His determination to address what distorts His creation.
In Jesus the Messiah, God’s faithfulness reaches a decisive expression. Through His life, death, resurrection, and reign, God fulfills His promises and advances His purpose to restore humanity and creation.
God’s faithfulness therefore represents His steadfast reliability—He remains committed to His purposes and brings them to completion, even in the face of human failure and opposition.
